YOUTH PAGE & COOL DUDES

Activities at Faith

Join us on September 14 as we celebrate Christian Education Sunday! Catch the excitement in worship or church school!
The following National Youth Event 2008 and PNECommuity Camp travelers would like to thank the congregation for their prayers and support; Jordan King, Bryanna Miller, Marina Bascom, Kelly and Abby Garrigan.  Under the guidance of Linda Lenhart they will be sharing their excitement and their experiences by planning the worship service on Sunday September 14. You can also catch the excitement in our church school rooms where our Christian Educators give of their time and talents:
Kristin Richards and Tracy Richards in GC#2 room with the 3 and 4 year olds.
Jen Neeb and Tiffani Sell in GC#3 room with Kindergarten to 5th grade.
Linda Lenhart in GC#4 room with 6th grade and up.

Catch the Excitement after worship in Fellowship Hall during Coffee Hour to speak to our travelers.

"Not-Quite" Over the Hill Gang
We will soon complete our first 6 months of cleaning the church with our "gang" of devoted helpers, and I want to thank them all for their efforts. And I want to report to the congregation that the essential tasks are being done on a weekly basis. We are enjoying the fellowship as well as the work. We could always use more help, however, and if anyone wishes to, we meet at 9:00 AM each Tuesday. There are some jobs that are being done at different times by different folks - whatever works!
There are some tasks that we need some additional help with - things that need to be done once or twice a year. For example - window washing, tile floor waxing, carpet shampooing, wall washing, and others that you may think of.  We thought of scheduling a work day. But instead, we are asking that anyone who can help to please contact me or our Property Liaison, Ray Neeb, and jobs can be scheduled when it is convenient. Possibly teams can be formed - use your imagination! Our hope is that we can accomplish all the work needed prior to the start of Vacation Bible School.
Thanks again for the support of the congregation in this new venture. Pastor Russ talked about working in a "community" in a recent sermon, and this is a good example.

"Faith"fully,
Don Seibert

CALLING ALL GRANDMAS!
Remember what a joy grandchildren are! The terrible two's, the smart-alecky preteens, the know-it-all teens are not so hard on grandparents as on parents - we can wave good-bye, put our feet up, enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and relax after they have gone! Well, I want all grandmas to relive those precious moments for one hour every month in Babyland and then wave good-bye, come down to Coffee Hour and relax! We'll even let you put your feet up!! Grandma's unite! Let's give the mothers of Faith's delightful children (0 - 2 years) a break! The more volunteers we have, the fewer Sundays you'll be on duty! Call Sara Thomas today to experience the joy of Babyland and to avoid the rush - we have only 52 Sundays to fill!! Call 610 264 4585 or 610 797 4215. ** Faith is an equal opportunity institution - we welcome grandfathers, parents, aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, babysitters!! Let's get my phone ringing!! Thanks, Sara

Circle of Faith

See me, feel me, touch me, heal me.
from the song “Listening to You/See Me”, performed by The Who.

This plea—this ageless plea—echoes through scripture. The prophet Jeremiah cried out to God, “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for you are my praise.” The Psalmist, in depths of despair, sang, “Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror.” The above lyrics, penned by the sixties rock group The Who, continue the request with clashing cymbals and strident guitars.
Faith’s group Circle of Faith will begin its monthly journey Sunday, December 9 at 9:15am in our Memorial Parlor. Our mission is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, not only in our words and worship, but also through our relationships with one another, our community and our world. We take seriously Jesus' commission to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” by creating a safe place so we can be open in mind, body, and spirit by encouraging, empowering, enlightening, and embracing one another.
We encourage you to come. Bring your joys and concerns, your hopes and dreams. Here you will find prayer and people to pray with you and for you in a confidential and peaceful setting. There is no cost, other than your time. “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29).

A personal testimony: I would like to share my story of attending this first class. Our mind and body enables us to feel warm in different ways. Wanting the room to be warm I turned up the thermostat. Knowing people were coming out of the cold I made coffee to warm them up. These are warm feelings my body could physically relate too.
Once our class began I was feeling the warmth of the Holy Spirit present.  The Memorial Parlor became a safe warm place for us that attended. The warm we feel but can not see is the warm we share in our stories and being in relationship with each other in a nonjudgmental way. I felt open in mind, body, and spirit. I felt the Holy Spirit by being
encouraged, empowered, enlightening, and by embracing one another.
Don’t pass up this warm spirited feeling surrounded by people of faith at Faith church.
